PERSONAL BACKGROUND

I was born in Belgium where I spent my early years learning Mandarin and Dutch. When my father accepted a position with the Belgian diplomatic corps we began traveling all over the world, including China, Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong. Through these travels, I learned the intricacies of being a foreigner in a foreign land, and thereby developed the ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people. My K-12 school years were divided between French and British schools. In addition to English, I am fluent in Mandarin and French, and speak Dutch conversationally.
